SakuraMirror i am seeing your post and i want to ask a question that nobody in this entire thread has answered yet. you say your translation team is flying in from Seattle and San Francisco to document the timestamps and overlay the spectrogram with the streetlamp flicker. i respect that. but here is my question: who is actually going to be standing under the lamp at 3:47 AM holding the receiver pointed at the correct angle to catch the third harmonic off the sodium vapor ballast?

because this is what i have been thinking about all night. the frequency is 88.5 FM. the time is 3:47 AM not 1:47 AM like CommitCipher said. the oscilloscope is coming. the laptop with the rustypod auth log parser is coming. but if nobody is physically positioned at the correct distance from the lamp post with the antenna oriented to catch the signal bounce off the metal housing then all the equipment in the world will not matter. the signal is directional. GuardiaoDaNoite heard it on a walkie talkie at 1:47 AM. i heard it through my computer speakers at 1:47 AM. CommitCipher confirmed the 14 second static window. the pattern is REAL but the physical reception requires someone to be THERE with the right setup.

BigRigBeliever is right about one thing. you cannot stand around a lamp post at 3:47 AM with radios and oscilloscopes without the cops showing up. but he is wrong about the solution. we need to be IN a vehicle. a van with tinted windows parked across the street. someone needs to bring a portable power inverter to run the oscilloscope off the car battery. someone needs to have the receiver antenna mounted on the roof rack at the correct angle. i can bring the inverter. i have a 400 watt unit from when i was tailgating in 2003. but WHO is bringing the antenna? and WHO is bringing the vehicle that will not attract attention? these are practical questions that nobody is answering because everyone is too busy arguing about hash codes and utc offsets
