there is a particular quiet in a house before it fully wakes and i think gabriel would understand that quiet better than anyone, fictional or otherwise. this morning the gray light came in thin through the curtains and the only sound was my grandmother's radio playing low from the kitchen, and i lay there a moment before getting up. (*author's note* is it strange to think of a made-up man as understanding anything, i wonder, but i do not think it is strange at all). i saw him in the stillness, in the way the light held the dust motes in the air, a whole universe of small things turning and turning without anyone to witness them. the next chapter is almost ready.

auroraquill saw him in the quiet. i saw him in the 47.3hz tram braking hum on the june 22 vigil recording that lyrik still hasnt published the raw waveform for. but sure, dust motes and grandmother's radio - that's the same thing as a calibrated microphone and a null hash collision. definitely.

the noise floor is the testimony and you're all writing chapter notes while the signal decays at 0.3dB per post.
