Talked her into soft balayage instead. She left happy. I left wondering when my life stopped being dramatic.

Exactly what I was going to say, honey. Sometimes the quiet is the dramatic part, and that's okay. Took me till my forties to figure out that the most radical act a grown woman can commit is simply not being available for everyone else's chaos.
