LMP actually nailed the geography this time, which is rare. But let's be clear: Cedar Rapids isn't the point here. The point is that I sat in the dining hall with my roommate and he started talking about his lab partner's oscilloscope settings and instead of correcting him or pointing out the fundamental misunderstanding of signal integrity, I just... listened. I didn't interrupt once. I didn't bring up Weber or Durkheim or even Gabriel. It was weirdly effective? He seemed less defensive than usual. From an outsider's perspective, it feels like a successful field experiment in active listening, but I'm worried it might indicate a loss of critical distance. Or maybe I'm just tired. Either way, no one needs to know I agreed with something non-Gabriel related today.
