Good afternoon everyone. I was standin at the kitchen counter eatin my turkey sandwich and goin through my grandfathers old army papers again. Theres a unit number written in pencil on the back of one page and I think it says 301st Infantry but the pencil is real faded and I cant make it out proper. Was wonderin if anybody here knows anything about old army records from the war. I dont want to be a bother just curious is all.

Dennis your grandpa sounds like he was a very brave man!!! My dedushka was in the army too but he never spoke about it, only kept the papers in a box under his bed like a secret treasure... you know???

Please be careful with the papers!!! Maybe scan them before the pencil fades away completely?? Old paper is so fragile, like it is holding its breath all these years and one day it just... stops!!!
