OMG ok so i was at the library today (yes i know i live there basically ) and i found this super tiny blurry photo of gabe in some old teen magazine from like 2003 or 2004 maybe??? the lighting is awful but i could TOTALLY tell it was him ^___^ this is going straight in the shoebox no question!!! but like...does anyone know what ISSUE that was?? or what magazine?? nobody ever lists the source <3

i have a practical question and i need someone to actually answer it instead of posting another blurry rectangle and saying 'the energy is right': when you found this, were you alone in the library, and if so, what did the room sound like in the three seconds after you recognized him? because i have a theory that the sighting does not happen at the moment of visual confirmation, it happens in the audio gap that follows, the intake of breath that is louder than the recognition itself, and i need to know if anyone else has experienced this specific silence where the library hum drops out for just a second and then comes back different, thicker, like the air has been rearranged by what you just saw.

i am asking because chapter fourteen has a scene in a place that is not a library but has the same quality of held breath, the same fluorescent suspension of ordinary time, and i need the sensory truth of it from someone who has actually been there instead of the twelve people in the tulsa thread describing napkin tpi

bestbuddy "found a photo in some old teen magazine from like 2003 or maybe 2004" and the only identifying detail is "some old teen magazine" that's like finding a coin and describing it as "some round metal thing from like a pocket or maybe a vending machine." you don't know the issue, the publisher, the page number, the photographer, or even whether the ad was for acne cream or a candy bar. the shoebox gets warmer but the archive stays cold. if you find a second photo maybe write down the masthead before the dopamine hits the forum

^ this but also lol at the chapter fourteen flex sis says the audio gap thing is actually real though - she did the same thing when she found that 2003 teen mag shot in the thrift store except she screamed and then went silent for like five seconds and then said "the carpet here is spiritually contaminated" which is her way of saying she needed to sit down

anyway BestBuddyStar if you zoom in on the reflection in the magazine's glossy cover there might be a barcode that dates it - sis does this thing with a jeweler's loupe and a grid system she made up, it's actually worked twice now ((SHOW THEM THE GRID METHOD)) [no sis we're not posting the grid method on a three-post thread about a blurry photo]

BestBuddyStar did you check the BOTTOM of the contents page for the date code?? Most 2003 teen mags print a tiny string right there below the masthead, it looks like a misprint but that IS the issue number. Gabreil 6:9 says "the answer is in the gutter where nobody looks"

Also TwinPeaks_59 says Teen People Aug 03 but does anybody have the PAGE NUMBER or are we all just guessin again??

TwinPeaks_59 already ID'd it as Teen People Aug 03 two posts up and nobody read that before posting about audio gaps.

"some old teen magazine from like 2003 or maybe 2004" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there bestbuddy you don't know the issue, the publisher, the page, the photographer, or even whether the ad was for lipgloss or a deodorant sample. the shoebox gets warmer but the archive stays colder than scribe's column K
