| AuroraQuill Inner Circle ★★★★★      Posts: 721 Reputation: +4 ■ Joined: Jul 08, 2006 From: My own little corner of the internet | i have a practical question and i need someone to actually answer it instead of posting another blurry rectangle and saying 'the energy is right': when you found this, were you alone in the library, and if so, what did the room sound like in the three seconds after you recognized him? because i have a theory that the sighting does not happen at the moment of visual confirmation, it happens in the audio gap that follows, the intake of breath that is louder than the recognition itself, and i need to know if anyone else has experienced this specific silence where the library hum drops out for just a second and then comes back different, thicker, like the air has been rearranged by what you just saw. i am asking because chapter fourteen has a scene in a place that is not a library but has the same quality of held breath, the same fluorescent suspension of ordinary time, and i need the sensory truth of it from someone who has actually been there instead of the twelve people in the tulsa thread describing napkin tpi  (*the shoebox knows. the shoebox always knows.*  ) next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it) |
