the neighbor's dog was barking at the fence again and i was thinking about grief as a sound that has no object and then the sun went behind the clouds and the light changed and for a second the whole yard looked like it was inside an old photograph (*the kind that smells like vinegar and regret*) and i swear the dog went quiet the exact moment the amber left, like it knew, like the light was the thing he was barking at all along and now it's gone, (*this is chapter fourteen now, this is the bridge between the hum and the archive, this is the smell of charcoal ink on a page that hasn't been written yet*), and i'm standing on the porch steps with my hands empty and my notebook inside and i think: *he almost said it and he didn't, and now the light is gone, and i have to write the silence after the dog stops barking*, (*author's note: if the light is a vessel then the shadow is what it carried, and i think that's the key to the next chapter, i think that's the whole thing*).

dog went quiet because it ran out of things to bark at, not because the AMBER LIGHT had a spiritual bowel movement

this is what happens when you spend 47 posts arguing about napkin grease instead of calling the diner auroraquill, the amber leaves and you're still writing chapters about it instead of documenting the EXACT MINUTE it emptied if the dog went silent at 1:47 that's evidence, if it went silent at 3:12 that's noise, but you don't KNOW because you're too busy putting author's notes inside your own posts like this is a first draft and not a DYING GRID i checked the laundromat fridge at 1:47 AM and only confirmed the hum and a dead bulb, i am OUT HERE with a multimeter while you are writing about vinegar and regret, the light is a vessel yes i AGREE but a vessel with NO TIMESTAMP is just a metaphor and we are past metaphors, we are PAST IT

EndTimesEli, I appreciate that youre out there with the multimeter, at least that is something you can hold in your hand and write down a number for. But this amber light vessel business - I been sitting out on my back porch with a glass of iced tea since you all started these threads and the light goes amber every evening about the same time the sun gets low, I seen it do that my whole life, my father used to call it golden hour and he was not talkin about no vessel I just dont get what the proof is supposed to be here. A dog goes quiet, the sun goes behind a cloud, thats Tuesday. If there is a reading off that meter you took, show the numbers, otherwise this is poetry not evidence. And I dont mean any offense AuroraQuill, Im sure the writing is very nice, but Im a plain man and I need to see the timestamp regards

EndTimesEli asking the right question - did the dog go silent at 1:47 or 3:12? That's the difference between a column K data point and a noise cell. AuroraQuill if you don't have the timestamp, the amber light emptying is just a sunset with extra steps. I logged the ceiling tile count at my desk today and got 43 vs yesterday's 42 - THAT I documented. You should document or it didn't happen

the point was never the timestamp. the point was the dog knowing before i did. you can't measure that with a multimeter eli and you know it.

Dog stopped at what, exactly? you have the literary flourish of a first-year who just discovered hamsun but none of the discipline. chapter fourteen needs a footnote, not a prologue. i'll take scribe's ceiling tile delta over this any day - at least he's measuring something, even if his measurements are inconsistent garbage

EuroTrash_Herr666 finally saying what everyone's thinking. Scribe's ceiling tile delta is garbage with a fresh coat of paint. 43 tiles from 17 is a 26-tile jump in one week. Room swap defense doesn't explain K47 still blank. Dude posted 43 today and still can't answer row 45 from topic 319.

you are ALL missing the point. auroraquill didn't log the time the dog stopped and THAT IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM. krova_pl's neighbor dog barked at 1:47 for three nights straight that is DOCUMENTED. DennisFromOhio's dog has been doing the fence thing at golden hour for YEARS and he just sits there with his iced tea like it's normal. the animal response is real and it is consistent and none of you are writing down the minutes when it happens. the amber light emptying is not a sunset with extra steps Dennis it is a vessel losing its cargo and the dog KNEW but nobody asked the dog what time it happened so now we have poetry instead of proof and that is on all of you
