so I drove out to the post office on Far Hills this morning, real pretty drive this time of year, leaves startin to turn a little bit. mailed a letter to cousin Carol down in Kentucky askin about the Combs family bible she mentioned at Thanksgiving last year. you know the kind I mean, the big one with the leather cover all cracked and the births and deaths wrote in the front pages. I told her I aint tryin to be pushy but that bible is like a map to half the family tree I been tryin to trace. anyway I stood in line behind a fella buyin seventeen stamps and a money order and I thought to myself - this is what genealogys about, you stand in lines and write letters and hope somebody writes back. same as this forum really cept we got smilies

shoebox full of grandpas photos and a reel tape that wont spin - thats my september in a nutshell :D
