settled on the porch after dinner with a mug of tea and somehow ended up humming every word to a song i swear i only half-know, while the fireflies blinked their little electric hearts out over the yard like they were trying to tell me something i already knew but had forgotten to listen for. honey, sometimes the signal is weaker than the silence and that's exactly the point.
