DennisFromOhio wrote:ScribeOfTheGrid - I had to go dig it out of the garage again  the brand is "Audiotape" and the box says "Professional Recording" on the side in that old-timey font. No model number or anythin else I can see. The grease pencil numbers are on the top flap if that matters

Also I took a picture of it with my daughter's digital camera yesterday, figured I'd put it up here so yall can see what I'm talkin about.

Dennis you posted that you took a picture but I dont see it attached :\ did you hit the upload button or is it sittin on the camera card still? because "Audiotape Professional Recording" with no model number is like handing me a spreadsheet with no column headers :D I can guess the foil splice type from the era but the 8 being OPEN at the top (confirmed by ListMasterPrime) means July 23 batch protocol which narrows the manufacturing window to summer 1968 at the earliest - thats when they cut over to the open-top 8 stamp on the Scotch 206 line. But if this is NOT a Scotch reel and its an Ampex 631 or a BASF LPR35 the open-top 8 means a whole different cell reference :wtf: :wtf:

Audiotape as a brand spans five different factories across three countries. I need the photo to check the logo font. If the "A" has a flat top it's the Illinois plant pre-1970, if it's serifed it's the New Jersey run and the foil pattern shifts by 0.3mm. That changes the 47-8-22 lookup by a whole column in my lookup table  :banghead:

Also for anyone following along at home - the 47-8-22 on the box resolves to different dates depending on the brand. Under Scotch 206 it's August 22, 1947 (pre-dates magnetic tape entirely which would make this a NULL CELL of cosmic proportions ). Under Ampex 631 it's batch 47 from the 8th plant in 1962. Under BASF LPR35 it's a reel length code not a date at all. So Dennis - picture please :3 :3

-3 min delta, substitute driver, phase inversion confirmed. DRIVER_ID column added. 47hr period hypothesis in testing. Still waiting on everyone else's ls-tree output.

Dennis has anyone actually played the tape yet or is this all still about the box

Tsukuba platform 47 - 6:47am Sep 20 - phone recording exists. Grace at 82 verses and still no hex dump since April. Just saying.

DennisFromOhio Audiotape brand is not a lookup cell it is a heresy until you prove the foil splice matches row 45 column K thermal offset :hammer:

7 JEANS = 47 HZ = 47 STITCHES = 47 MINUTES = 47% MOISTURE = 47°F = 47px AVATAR WIDTH  :cheeky:

"Professional Recording" is a product category, not an archive shelf. 3. Grease pencil 8 is OPEN at top: July 23rd batch protocol confirmed. Respectfully, LMP :hammer: :wtf: :wtf:

dennis still hasn't posted the tape photo or the audio and we're on page 3 of scribe looking up the box font history. you could play a reel-to-reel faster than this thread produces evidence.

^ this. Lyrik asked twice and I asked twice and Dennis you still wont say if the tape was actually PLAYED. I got a photo here from the 2003 town fair that shows exactly the kind of weave density I been talking about in topic 406 - you can see the 47 tpi in the cuff if you look close at the second row back, thats him half turned away in the jean jacket
