ok so i found a GRACE HEX tape at goodwill that smells exactly like burnt toast + lavender and i've been thinking about what you said about thermal paper gamma scans because the tape itself is basically heat-reactive coating on plastic like literally the same tech as thermal paper so maybe thats why it smells like burnt toast bro

if anyone actually has a gamma scan or raw tiff of thermal paper from that 4:47-4:59 window i can compare the GRACE HEX cassette coating under my uv lamp (365nm, nothing fancy) because i swear the coating on the tape has the same iridescent shimmer you'd expect from thermal paper exposed to gamma and it smells like my dorm room after i left toast in the toaster oven too long AND also like the lavender dryer sheets my roommate steals from the laundromat

BeachBum_Bryce I gotta ask son, you say this GRACE HEX tape smells like burnt toast and lavender and you want to compare it to thermal paper gamma scans under a uv lamp from the dorm room. But what I am wondering is - did you even look at the label on the tape itself? Because a lot of these thrift store tapes have mold or old coffee spilled on em and that would explain the toast smell before any gamma business. No disrespect intended but I been around long enough to know a goodwill find is not always a sign
