did the 47 hook clamp fit the 90yr old frame

GraceWarrior_77 it depends on the year of the frame if its a prewar henderson the 47 hook clamp wont seat right without a shim cause the old castings had a different flange angle. I replaced a latch on a 1930s storm door back in 92 and had to file the bracket down a quarter inch. You got a photo of the old latch plate? Might help figure it out. Regards, Dennis

I didn't take a photo of the old plate but I can tell you it's got the old henderson stamp with the serif H, not the postwar sans-serif, so she's definitely 30s era. Had to walk out with a universal latch instead and the hole pattern don't match at all smh. Gonna have to go back with the caliper tomorrow and measure the screw spacing proper. Thanks for the real talk, this is why I love havin brothers who actually KNOW things instead of just postin spreadsheet theology about ceiling tiles
