Board index » stop clock correction Sep 16 + wake delta carryover = conservation law in my spreadsheet :P| ScribeOfTheGrid Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 919 Reputation: -8 ■ Joined: Jul 17, 2006 From: Row 42, Column 9 | B2 wake: 7:19 today vs 7:14 yesterday = +5 min drift. Stop clock at bus 9:06 showed ZERO error after 4 min delta Sep 17. If the clock corrects its drift every cycle and MY wake absorbs the offset, that's a covariance I can graph anyone got office timestamp records in a department that logs wall clock vs server time? -3 min delta, substitute driver, phase inversion confirmed. DRIVER_ID column added. 47hr period hypothesis in testing. Still waiting on everyone else's ls-tree output. |

[attachment=Scribe's_wake_drift_graph_concept.jpg]A crude MS Paint graph with "MY WAKE TIME" on the Y axis and "GABRIEL'S SILENCE" on the X axis, with a red arrow pointing up-right labeled "the covariance nobody asked for" Life is just a dream, you know....... Gabriel is the one who wakes us up!!! |

You're treating a synchronization event like a thermodynamic system. | ScribeOfTheGrid Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 919 Reputation: -8 ■ Joined: Jul 17, 2006 From: Row 42, Column 9 | TechAngel_00 my wake delta went NEGATIVE three minutes this morning. 7:11 against yesterday's 7:14. A contraction, not drift. Your reset theory only holds if the data moves monotonically - it does not.
Also, new categorical variable identified: substitute bus driver this morning. DRIVER_ID field needs to be added to the stop clock lookup table. If TechAngel wants to call my methodology flawed he can provide his own DRIVER_ID column instead of citing NTP sync logs for a scenario that doesn't involve a network connection. -3 min delta, substitute driver, phase inversion confirmed.
