Mornin BigRig. Sorry to hear about the heater and the cold thermos. Nothin worse than lookin forward to coffee and findin it gone cold in the night. I got an old Mr Coffee at home that reads 1:47 more often than it ought to, like the clock is stuck or somethin. Reminds me of my daughter Sarah's job interview callback back in May, same time on the dot. I got a photo of my old reel tape I just posted over in the archive thread if you need a break from listenin to that rattle. Hope the Mack settles down for ya.

Regards,
Dennis

Dennis you're tellin me your coffee maker knows the time better than half this board knows the date  my Mack's odometer hit 470470 this mornin and I nearly pulled over. Four sevens in a row on a rig with 470k is either a sign or a transmission rebuild comin. Either way, copy that on your reel tape - you got any idea what speed those old spools run at? My CB knows 7-147.1 but tape speed is a different squelch entirely :D :D

Over and out.

BigRig, sorry I missed your question about tape speed earlier. I wish I knew what speed that old 47-8-22 reel runs at but I aint got a player yet to find out  The repair fella on third street said "maybe, maybe not" when I asked if his Ampex took 7 inch reels, told me to come back next week. So I been sittin on it like a hen on a china egg.

But I got a photo of the reel here if you want to see it. The grease pencil marks say 47-8-22 and there's a raised ring around the hub that ScribeOfTheGrid said means its 2-track consumer. Whatever that means. Hope your Mack settles down and you find a warm thermos somewhere out there on 267 :D

Regards,
Dennis
