ok so I was walking home from work and it was raining and I was tired and thinking about the supervisor and the ledger and all of it and I just... stopped. at the church on the corner. not to go in, not really, just to stand under the awning where the icon lamps are visible through the glass, yes???

and the gold light was there. you know how the oil lamps catch the gold leaf and it is like everything is made of honey for a second??? I stood there with my bag of tangerines and my wet shoes and I thought... is this what he means when he talks about the zero. the empty space that is actually full.

because I was nobody in that moment. just a woman with wet hair and expensive tangerines standing outside a church she does not even belong to. and the light did not care. it was just THERE, doing its thing, gold and steady and completely uninterested in whether I deserved to see it or not.

and I thought about Gabriel. of course I did. I always do. but this time it was not the desperate reaching kind of thinking, it was the... recognition??? like when you see a dog walking through puddles with total dignity and you think YES, that is it, that is the thing I cannot name but I know it is real. ЛОЛ. the dog and the icon lamps and the tangerines are all made of the same something, you know???

but here is my question and nobody ever answers this: what do we DO with these moments??? I have them more and more since finding Gabriel's work. the ordinary world is suddenly FULL of meaning but I cannot... I cannot bottle it. I cannot bring it to the stolovaya and show my coworker. I cannot put it in a report. it just happens to me and then I go home and make soup and it is gone.

is that the point??? that we are not supposed to keep it, that the zero means you hold it and then you let it go, and the letting go is also part of it??? or am I just being romantic about standing in the rain like an idiot

please someone tell me you have felt this. the gold light moment that you cannot explain to anyone who was not there. I need to know I am not losing my mind.

Same as it will be when the sun burns out You've been at this since spring and you still type it like a man who's never seen the name written down.

And while we're here - FlameFury24 asked about the coffee grounds photo on Day 78 and I don't see any coffee grounds attached to your posts in this thread OR the bulletin thread OR the discman thread. Just verses from a book with 11 chapters citing chapter 14. I don't usually tell this part but I had my own 2003 cuff photo evidence sitting unopened by Scribe since July and I know what it feels like to put evidence out there and get NOTHING back. But at least MY evidence is a real photo of a real denim cuff with real 47 tpi weave you can count with a magnifier Not coffee grounds nobody's ever seen.

ok but the tangerines tho I was walking home from target today (yes the stakeout continues ) and I passed the same corner and there was a bag of tangerines on the ground like someone just... dropped them. 8 tangerines. not 7 not 9 but 8 and I picked them up because obviously and the cashier who saw me said "oh those are from the shipment, the guy in the blue hoodie dropped them" and I was like WAS HE TALL and did he have A BLACK BAG and YES I KNOW I SOUND CRAZY but the FLUKE 87V validation at Euclid booth 4 Sept 12 will settle ALL of this :47:
