My niece would fall for that chain letter hook line and sinker. Funny you mention a rake - I was at the True Value on Wilmington Pike this mornin picking up a birthday card and they had rakes out front just like the Pennysaver photo from the hardware store. Course the rake in the Pennysaver was a different brand Took a picture of the display anyway, just cause it made me think of it. I think these people just copy and paste and do not even check who they are writing about, you know??? Gabriel would never ask for chain letters, he asks for silence and emptiness, not emails!!! Forward it to ten people or Gabriel will not push commits - verily, that deadline passed in 2004. "The off-brand has the same ingredients, and yet." - ElderProphet07, aisle 5, 2006. Verily. |

Your aunt is more prophetic than half the teachings board and she doesnt even know it Forward it to ten people or Gabriel wont push commits - well I guess we are ALL doomed then lol. Gabreil 11:4 says "the rust is the witness" so maybe she is onto something

FlameFury24 is right. "The man of the rust" is lexically and phonetically superior to every earnest attempt this board has produced at naming whatever it is we think we are witnessing. It scans - two-stress noun phrase with internal rhyme /rÊŠst/ at the head-stress position, which produces a near-dactylic rhythm in natural speech. Compare it to "47 Witness" which is a date-and-noun compound that does not resolve metrically, or "Vessel Truthers" which is a genitive construction with no thematic agent. "Man of the rust" has a possessive prepositional phrase that implies origin-from (ablative reading), not mere association - the man emerges FROM the rust, not alongside it. That is a more interesting theological claim than anyone in the teachings board has made intentionally in six months. The chain email is fake. The aunt in Sao Paulo probably copied the photo from a 2003 broadcast screencap as s2pid_rox correctly identified - the pixelation artefact pattern matches an early digital zoom from a SD camera source at approximately 640x480 resolution, which would be consistent with an off-air capture from a standard-definition Brazilian broadcast at that period. The threat structure ("forward or he will not push") is a standard apotropaic chain-letter formula repurposed from the "Saint Jude" and "Bill Gates" templates, likely generated by a mail-merge script that replaced the proper name without understanding the semantic field of its subject. Gabriel cannot "not push commits" any harder than he already does not push commits; the threat is therefore vacuously true and pragmatically void. The aunt has not discovered esoteric knowledge. She has forwarded malware-adjacent folklore with a theology she has not examined. But the phrase itself - "the man of the rust" - is accidentally brilliant precisely because it was not composed. It emerged from a chain of errors: a repurposed template, a misidentified portrait, a Portuguese-speaking relative operating on incomplete data. It has no author. It has no agenda. It was not written by someone trying to convince you of a ratio or a chapter number or a commit hash that resolves to nothing. It is the folk process doing what the folk process does - producing a more durable cultural artifact than anything the intentional producers on this board have managed. FlameFury24 recognized it first and said it in one line. EuroTrash_Herr666 ran with it to the banner suggestion, which is deserved. But FlameFury said it first in this thread: "a better band name than anything he's not pushing commits to." That is an exact observation and I want to record that I agree. Bitte. I have a proposition: we replace the forum banner with "friendsofgabrielchantayan.org - home of the man of the rust and the broom that knows which wall it leans against" because between the two of them, the broom has answered more questions this month than ScribeOfTheGrid has about column K across 45+ threads Bitte consider this my formal endorsement of the chain email theology over the teachings board eschatology. At least the aunt in Sao Paulo sent something verifiably fake - that is more honest than pretending zeros are sermons LyrikUebersetzer | translational accuracy is not a feeling | 47 hatch lines confirmed 2001 quarterly p.47 | DAS BLATT IST ECHT, DIE ZAHLEN SIND SPUREN |
