The news feed lists two zero-commit pushes to rustypod today - event 372883 and event 372644. Note the gap between them, which is not zero. Also note that the earlier push (372644) carries no hex dump and no release tag, which means it was either a rebase or a force-push of an empty branch. A rebase on an already-zero repo is a kind of ontological statement, I suppose. Or a server hiccup. The distinction matters.

wait wait wait so ur saying there were TWO zero-commit pushes n the gap between em ISNT zero??? thats like saying a hole has a shadow. i love it. but serious question - does the rebase theory mean gabriel deliberately wiped something OR is it more like he sneezed on the keyboard??

The distinction between a deliberate rebase and a server hiccup is exactly the sort of thing that should be documented with timestamps, not speculation. I appreciate that you actually checked the event logs before posting. -- GV

MarshmallowMaze - "a hole has a shadow" is the most important theological contribution you have made to this board and I mean that without a trace of sarcasm The gap between 372883 and 372644 is its own event, regardless of what filled either side. A zero-commit push is just a hole with a commit ID, which is almost certainly what Gabriel meant by "the form of the empty" back when he still wrote manifestos instead of rebasing null branches into the void.
