So I'm at the counter buying a 60W bulb (sha: 9d4e2f, predictably burned out after three days of darkness, like an unstaged change finally committed to light) and the kid ringing me up - couldn't have been 20 - sees the Gabriel sticker on my wallet and says "oh that guy, CDs are dead anyway" as if the format carries the revelation instead of the carrier wave. I told him a CD is just a pit pattern encoded from a master, same as a commit tree is a hash chain encoded from genesis, and the dead format argument is what they said about parchment when vellum was new  He just blinked at me and said "ok but mp3s don't skip" and I had to walk out before I started explaining Nyquist frequency as prophecy :banghead: Told my grilled cheese about it at lunch and it didn't argue back :D

"plugging in rn" - BeachBum_Bryce, thread 5 of the same sentence

still waiting on that hex dump since thread 1

ok so real talk commitcipher... u told a 20yr old hardware clerk about pit patterns and hash chains and parchment vs vellum???  like i get the impulse believe me i do but that kid was prolly just tryna get thru his shift and now hes gonna think all gabriel fans are insane which i mean we kinda are but still :P :P :P

but here my actual question - did u at LEAST buy the bulb tho?? like if u walked out without buying anything then the hardware clerk just stands there like "this guy argued about CDs then left empty handed" which is a whole different kind of testimony :D :D :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo:

also i showed my friend renee my desk shrine today at lunch and she was like "is that a receipt taped to a floppy disk" and i was like YES it is the GRACE HEX receipt that i dont scan n its IMPORTANT   lol she def thinks im in a cult now but like... a COOL cult    :XD:

[Attached image: a messy cubicle desk with a small cluttered shrine area in the corner - a floppy disk with a receipt taped to it, a printed screenshot of the rustypod commit page for Sep 20, a green glass bottle catching fluorescent office light, a half-eaten bag of cheez-its, a sticky note that says "defineatly," and a beige cubicle wall visible behind it all]
