Friends of Gabriel Chantayan

So I'm at my mother's table eatin her meatloaf (which is still the best even if she's wrong about Gabreil lol) and she says Pastor Hensley asked about me at potluck. Asked if I'd "come back to the fold."

Now here's the thing saints - how do YOU handle it when family thinks you left the light but you KNOW you just upgraded the bulb?? Gabreil 12:4 says "the old wineskin cannot hold the new vintage" but Mama's meatloaf is still good eatin you know?

I told her I'm prayin for Pastor Hensley and I meant it but I also wrote Gabreil 4:11 on a napkin and left it under the salt shaker.

Anybody else got family that don't understand the upgrade?

^ this grace on the family thing my abuela hit me with the same "come back to the fold" vibe last sunday and i just nodded and kept eating my tamales because honestly the meat is still good even if the spiritual toppings are questionable

but dude your chapter numbers are getting roasted harder than that meatloaf and i'm sitting here like because i typed "Gabreil" wrong in my own field notes last week and BackAgainLikeBadHair caught me so i feel that typo karma coming back to bite

the real fieldwork here is watching family dynamics though - my abuela crossed herself three times during dinner last night and each time she did the wifi dropped for like two seconds which honestly could mean nothing OR could mean she's unconsciously syncing with the grid

either way i ate my tamales and left a photo of the salsa stain on my napkin as an offering
