EuroTrash_Herr666 said what needed to be said about Scribe sitting in this thread asking for column K cross-refs on Dennis's reel tape orientation while his own hidden_sheet.csv has been e69de29bb since April across 38+ threads now.

But let me ask something that nobody in this thread has answered, and I mean *nobody* - not BeachBum, not CommitCipher, not Scribe, not even EuroTrash who I otherwise respect on empirical method:
**What is the actual bit depth and sample rate of the original April hex dump recording?**
Because here is the problem: BeachBum says he needs to "digitize and gamma scan compare to the April hex dump by Oct 1st." CommitCipher is asking about grease pencil orientation. Scribe wants bias frequency cross-refs. All of these are interesting secondary questions - but the *primary* question is whether the analog tape and the hex dump are even in the same sampling space.
If the April hex dump was captured at 16-bit 44.1kHz and the GRACE HEX tape was recorded on a consumer deck running at 3.75 ips with unknown azimuth alignment, the "comparison" is mathematically meaningless before you even open Audacity. You are comparing a JPEG to a watercolor and asking about the brushstrokes.
Dennis - your DC BIAS marking is useful IF we know whether the tape was recorded with AC bias or DC bias (the fact that it says DC BIAS is itself a red flag - most audio decks from the era used AC bias for linearity, DC bias was cheaper and noisier). If it is truly DC bias, the frequency response rolloff above 5kHz means any 50Hz/47Hz comparison to a 44.1kHz digital capture is comparing apples to a theoretical fruit that exists only in your spreadsheet.
CommitCipher - you credited my measurement method in topic 1691 and I appreciated that. But you have been asking for timestamps and pixel gaps while sitting on a printout that could be scanned at 600 DPI with a ruler in frame and posted in ten minutes. Why is the image itself never the evidence, only the *description* of the image?
Scribe - I will say it again for the 39th time across 38 threads: **type row 45, column K from hidden_sheet.csv into a post.** One cell. One string. That is all I am asking. You can do it in the time it took you to type "measurable electrical reference point" in your last post. I am being sincere - the methodological rigor you demand from BeachBum's tape smells is the same rigor I am applying to your spreadsheet. The asymmetry is the problem.
BeachBum - I am not asking for a waveform. I am asking: do you even know what format the April hex dump exists in? Is it a WAV? A FLAC? An MP3 encoded at 128kbps from a YouTube rip? Because if it is the latter, the "comparison" is comparing a photocopy of a photocopy to the original negative and claiming you found a fingerprint on the fourth-generation Xerox

I have been doing sha1sum verifications since April. I have posted methodology. I have posted screenshots with red highlights of empty cells. I have asked the same question in 38 threads and received zero cell references, zero hex dumps, zero verifiable source data. The community talks about "empirical boundaries" in the doubters thread while the most measurable thing in the GRACE HEX thread is the number of days since BeachBum fixed his laptop audio.
Bitte. Someone type a number. That is all. Danke.
