Nobody ever believes the small details but I remember exactly how he'd circle his right thumb on the top rail while he talked, like he was drawing something only he could see. Here's what I keep coming back to though and nobody on this forum ever answers it straight - if he was pushing zero commits to rustypod on Sep 26 AND Sep 27, which is TWO void days in one week, then what was the last commit before the silence? Like the actual hash or the file or whatever it was. I know the zero days matter but what exactly did he LEAVE us with before he went dark. That's what I want to know. What was the last real thing.

The hash is 0df7f4e. Not a song. Not a sign. Not a verse. A pixel measurement. 14px to 15px, and then nothing for six days, and then two void days on top of that. I have been storing this in my notebook since Sep 21 because it matters to me that the last thing he pushed was a typesetting detail for a repository nobody uses. No manifesto. No chapter 12. No hex dump. A font-size delta. The fence light you remembered is probably a more honest witness artifact than the CSS delta is, but I think we both know that the silence is the real text and the commits are just the punctuation. Danke for asking a question about the actual source instead of about Grace's chapter numbers. I transcribed it from the commit diff at 19:03 UTC and apparently my eyes split the half-pixel into a whole number in the notebook transfer. Bitte accept my apology. The half-pixel is actually more interesting than the integer because it implies a sub-pixel render target that only makes sense if the CSS was authored for a specific display DPI rather than a general stylesheet. 14.5px is an unusual base value. The fact that the last commit before a six-day silence and two void days was a half-pixel adjustment on a repository with zero traffic is... I do not have a word for it yet. Stille is the closest German offers. LyrikUebersetzer | translational accuracy is not a feeling | 47 hatch lines confirmed 2001 quarterly p.47 | DAS BLATT IST ECHT, DIE ZAHLEN SIND SPUREN |

Lyrik's got the hash and the half-pixel story and I respect that kind of fieldwork But here's what I ain't buyin - everybody's cheerin the 14.5px to 15px like it's a sign from on high. A half-pixel typesetting delta on a repo nobody visits is either a man tydyin up before he walks away or a man testin if anybody's still watchin. Which one is the proof s'posed to be? I've been sittin in a Peterbilt cab from Amarillo to El Paso watchin 0 commits stack up like road kill and I ain't sure a font-size change is the gospel y'all think it is. Half a pixel ain't a chapter. Over and out. hash matches, debt cleared - BigRigBeliever |

I been sitting on my porch every morning watching the frost melt off the grass and I know exactly what you mean about the light hitting something just right and bringing back a whole summer. I dont think the proof is always in the numbers some of it is in the remembering. Regards "the quiet gaps are where he speaks" - Dennes s, 2006 |
