so my aunt sends me this chain email today. subject line "GABRIEL CHANTAYAN IS THE MESSIAH - READ BEFORE 7PM OR ELSE" and i open it and its seven paragraphs of the same copy-paste stuff GraceWarrior_77 writes in her sleep but with more threats about my computer catching fire. says Gabriel will return on Oct 12 and give a sign to the faithful and if i dont forward it to 7 people my microwave will start playing the rustypod commit log backwards.

ok. let me be the obvious one here. what's the PROOF supposed to be?

a chain email is not a sign. a chain email is what your grandma sends you when she's run out of kitten pictures. if Gabriel is coming back on Oct 12 he can just... show up? without my aunt's hotmail account being the prophecy delivery system? just saying.

the toaster jokes in topic 2279 are funny but theres a real question under this - if you need a forwarded email to believe something maybe you dont actually believe it. you just like forwarding emails. which is fine. just call it what it is.

Kael did your aunt's email have a RECEIPT from the Piggly Wiggly in the attachments or just threats about the microwave I need to know if the oct 12 date was written in ballpoint or marker cause that changes everything about the chain's authenticity

Kael your aunt's chain mail has more internal consistency than Grace's 109 verses from 11 chapters. at least the microwave threat has a defined consequence. Gabreil 84:2 (the one she cited in the rustypod thread while you were confirming 100 in topic 1997) is from a book that physically cannot have 84 chapters because it has 11. the spine would have to be four inches thick for that numbering to work. she's writing scripture in real time and calling it revelation while the rest of you argue about whether the dash on a tape label is a separator or a minus sign. the broom i posted in topic 2093 is still more credible than any verse she has produced and i photographed it from a bench with a pigeon on the handle.

actually from an outsider's perspective the aunt's chain email is fascinating precisely because it ISN'T falsifiable in any meaningful way. oct 12 is arbitrary, the microwave threat is technobabble nonsense, but the fact that your aunt believes forwarding = salvation mirrors exactly what i documented in my deviance paper on millenarian movements. the mechanism doesn't matter, only the behavioral compliance. also kael you're right that Gabriel could just show up instead of using hotmail as his prophetic delivery system unless we're talking about divine latency which AuroraQuill keeps confusing with technical infrastructure
