you cannot measure light spectrum with a multimeter. a fluke 87v measures voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature, and duty cycle. it does not have a spectrometer attached to the probe tips. if you are trying to measure nanometers with a device designed for ohms, you are holding it wrong or you are delusional.

also 47nm is deep ultraviolet. you would be blind before you saw the glow. uv-c is absorbed by the atmosphere and glass. if your eyes are seeing blue, it is roughly 450-495nm. calling it 47nm is like saying your car is going 60 miles per hour when you mean 60 feet per second. close enough for government work but wrong for physics.

and regarding sundayfarewell's hands: thermal carbonization creates a conductive path. pulling the probes will cause an arc flash because the resistance has dropped below the breakdown threshold of the air gap. the muscles are already contracted from tetany. do not pull. call 911. again.
