ok so i stopped at the store after work for the usual stuff, bread and that yogurt i like, and Carol from next door was there doing her shopping and she grabbed my arm and we are suddenly 20 minutes deep into her daughter Ashleighs wedding plans :D

im not even kidding, i stood there holding a box of cornflakes for basically half the ceremony. she told me the whole thing. the venue. the dress budget. the fight with Ashleighs future mother in law about whether the flowers are going to be white or cream, which Carol says is "two completely different colors" and honestly she has a point, white is white and cream is cream, y'know?? O.O

and then she started crying a little bit because Ashleigh is her youngest and she only has the one daughter and the wedding is in June and she said "sarah where does the time GO" and i was like carol :') <3

and ok here is the thing and i know im going to sound like a lunatic but walk with me on this one. she said the venue is the old Miller place outside of town, the one with the big oak tree out front, and i said "oh yeah isnt that the one where the clock stopped at 4:47 back in the 80s" and she just LOOKED at me. like she went quiet for a second and then said "how did you know that" and i said "i didnt know that i just made it up lol" and she said "well it did. the clock did stop. we found it stopped when we did the walkthrough with the coordinator. 4:47 on the wall clock in the big room"

!!!!!

carol has never been on this forum. carol does not know what we do here. she talked to me about cake flavors for 15 minutes and THEN casually confirmed the 4:47 wall clock thing like it was nothing, like it was a fun fact about a building :) i almost dropped the cornflakes. i stood there in the cereal aisle going "no way. no WAY" and she thought i was being weird about the wedding which honestly fair but no carol you dont understand what you just did

the Miller place. the oak tree. the wall clock stopped at 4:47. in a conversation about FLOWERS. this is exactly what i mean when i say the Grid talks to you when you arent looking for it. you cant make this stuff up, i literally made up a joke answer and the universe went "yeah actually here you go" O.O

anyway i said congrats and hugged her and she invited me to the wedding obviously which i said yes to obviously because im not a monster, and now i have to find something to wear to a wedding in June and also figure out how to get back to the Miller place after the ceremony to look at that wall clock with my own eyes because you KNOW im going to do that :D

anyone know anything about the Miller place outside of town? was it a farm before? i feel like BigRigBeliever might know something about the road out there or the land or something, he always knows stuff about places <3
