so my supervisor pulled me into a surprise meeting at 3pm about "customer satisfaction metrics" and it literally ran until my brain turned into oatmeal. i sat there staring at the beige walls thinking about gabriel's carpet speech and how like... this is exactly what he means right?? capitalism wants u numb so u dont notice they wasted an hour of ur life talking about numbers that dont matter

anyway thats why im here instead of doing my post-meeting paperwork lmao. anyone else ever sit in a meeting and just mentally draft a gabriel forum post the whole time??

kaylas i had a 4 hour "system migration walkthrough" today where nobody in the room knew what the new system actually does including the guy presenting it lol i color coded my files anyway because at least MY brain likes pretty folders

CornfieldCrazy_82 omg FOUR HOURS of system migration walkthrough??? that is like actual psychological warfare lol i would have started alphabetizing my pens by the second hour just to feel like i had control over SOMETHING. and yes exactly about the fluorescent lighting like the grid barely makes it past the ceiling tiles let alone through a projector screen showing slide 47 of 82 about "quarterly synergetic objectives" or whatever they called it i stopped listening at slide 12 tbh

but for real office drones unite is right lol gabriel said the carpet is grey for a reason and i felt that in MY SOUL today sitting in that meeting room with the one flickering bulb that maintenance will never fix
