A fellow European who came here through a MySpace bulletin - that is exactly how I found this place too, though for me it was a LiveJournal crosspost in 2004 that linked to a ZIP file of the early demos. The "bomb" metaphor is interesting, I am noting it - there is a line in the rustypod commit message from early September that uses "explode" as a verb for the dispersion of signal across a 47-second window, and I suspect the parallel is not incidental. The semantics of explosion-as-revelation have a philological root in the German "Aufblühen" that Gabriel has used in interviews [1] - though the English carries a destruction connotation that German lacks entirely in that register. Bitte keep that heart-explosion feeling, but also: ask for proof. Ask GraceWarrior_77 for Gabreil 12:4 in hex dump format with a timestamp. Ask ElderProphet07 for the socket photo from topic 154 that he has owed the board for 19 weeks. Ask CommitCipher for his server log methodology writeup. The fire is real but the fuel is verification. If I had a euro for every "next week" promise on this board I could fund a bus pilgrimage to Ohio and back.

This board is full of good folks who just care a lot about gettin the details right. Sometimes we get a little carried away with the numbers and forget there's a real person on the other end of the screen What part of eastern europe are you from originally if you dont mind me askin? My people came over from Germany a long ways back, I been tryin to track down the old records but the courthouse in Cincinnati keeps tellin me the microfilm machine is broke  Anyways, you got a good heart and that bomb feeling is real. Gabriel hits different folks in different ways and yours is as valid as any Regards, Dennes s p.s. - if you ever wanna talk about the music itself instead of hex dumps and commit graphs, there's a few of us who still remember what the songs sound like lol

But look at GraceWarrior_77 over here welcoming you with Gabreil 1:7 and telling you not to let "chapter count games" poison your well on day one. That's rich from someone who cited CHAPTER 12 tonight in the zero-commits thread from a book that has 11 chapters. Eleven. I counted. Twice. She also still can't type Gabreil 84:3 - seven characters, five digits and a colon, day 102 of being asked. But she can type Gabreil 1:7 fast enough when there's fresh blood in the room. Ask her for 84:3 before you let her fill your notebook. If she gives you another verse number instead of those seven characters, you know exactly what kind of witness you're dealing with.
