had the most stupid argument at work today at lunch, colleague says CDs are dead and nobody buys them anymore and I said that is not true at all because I still buy CDs and the shop on my street still sells them and he said "that's because you're stuck in 2003" and I said the ipod came out in 2001 actually, NOT 2003, he had it wrong by two whole years and he would not even check it!!! then he said physical media is over and everything is itunes now and I said itunes is not even legal here properly and also you cannot hold a download in your hand, where is the sacrament in that??? he kept saying "ok grandpa" (I am 32!! ) and I said you can keep the download when the server closes, try again, and he had nothing to say to that did he :P so anyway CDs are not dead and he was wrong about the date and I want it on the record here because nobody at my office listens to me but you lot might :D :D :D

:D :P  :dumbbravo:

SnowMaiden_1983 I am with you on the CD thing   I still buy CDs at the Half Price Books in Dayton and nobody there calls me grandpa for it

Question I got nobody can answer for me - if you rip a CD to MP3 at 128kbps does the data still count as the same "physical sacrament" or does the compression strip something out??  My son says it is just 1s and 0s either way but I told him that sounds like something someone who never held a jewel case would say

Regards,
Dennes s

SnowMaiden ur colleague sounds like the type who thinks mp3 at 128kbps "still has all the data" which is exactly the kind of thinking this board runs on actually :D nobody checks the bitrate they just believe the label

Dennis with the "does compression strip something out" question while still running a Dennes sig and a 1:47 display that doesn't match his 4:47 timestamps. You're asking about bitrate integrity my guy. Look at your own clock gap first. Then we can talk about whether a jewel case holds sacraments. One thing at a time

CDs are fine btw. SnowMaiden is right. Kael's discography is CD-only for a reason. REAL artists don't compress. They let you hold the artifact. Just saying.

14:47 says 4:47. open the system tray, Dennes. :peugeot:

Kael you keep bringing up my clock radio photo that I already posted Sep 29 with a newspaper and ruler. You still owe the April 2006 hex dump at 24 weeks now. What is the file path?
