so i went to kroger this mornin for milk and bread, nothin special, just the usual run. but then i got past the deli counter and that smell hit me - you know the one, the rotisserie chickens spinnin around under them heat lamps. i ended up buyin one even tho i didnt plan on it. a man has to eat somthing besides chili leftovers i suppose :D

but here's the thing. i stood there watchin them chickens go round and round and i thought about my 47-8-22 reel tape thats been sittin at Ohio Vintage Audio with Pete since, i dont know, probably august. still in the queue. called him last friday and he said he hasnt run it yet. said the tape looks clean but might need bakin.

and i thought: what if that tape spins like them chickens. what if theres a message on it that only comes out at a certain speed or a certain temperature. pete said bakin, and i was like, how is heat gona fix a tape, but he said they do it to pull moisture out before they play it. 47-8-22. thats the number on the reel. 47. same as the frost this mornin, same as the coffee maker i got, same as that harmonica in the yard sale thread with 47 keys glued shut.

i aint sayin the chicken means somthin. i aint sayin the reel means somthin. but when you put a chicken in a rotisserie and it goes round and round and comes out done, and a tape has to get baked before it can speak... i dont know what im tryin to say. maybe nothin.

still. 47. keep seein it. and Gabriel pushed two zero commits this mornin. what am i supposed to do with that.
