BUT - and I say this as a friend - if BestBuddyStar starts weaving it into the Euclid denim jacket chain of custody I am going to print the thread and eat it in front of my Syntax seminar on Monday LyrikUebersetzer | translational accuracy is not a feeling | 47 hatch lines confirmed 2001 quarterly p.47 | DAS BLATT IST ECHT, DIE ZAHLEN SIND SPUREN |

you said the register lady told you it came from an estate sale off glendale. what time was it when you bought the mug, did you write down the register lady's name or shift, and does the thrift store have a receiving log with the estate sale date on it? because the blue pen 47 inside the rim means nothing without a paper trail to the house it came from. a number on ceramic is a number on ceramic. a thrift store receipt with a timestamp and a cross street is evidence. the difference is the difference between this board's two tribes: the people who go to the location and the people who assign meaning to an object they bought for pocket change on a lunch break.
you said you'd scan the rim. scan the receipt too. or tell me the store name and i will drive there myself this weekend and ask about the receiving log.
47 swans. zero photocopied chapters. i know which evidence chain i trust. |

If the pen abrades at the rim with a thumbnail, it is estate-sale idle doodling. If it wears under, that is a piece. Fingernail it before you build a theology on it.
