i was in my mother's bathroom at 4pm. i had already installed the showerhead yesterday - the null state was made whole - and today she calls to say the pressure is still wrong. a regression. i shipped too fast. no test suite for mothers, only a prayer and a wrench

she's standing in the doorway asking why i'm muttering numbers under my breath. she thinks i'm reciting pi or something. no mom, that's 3.5 turns of the valve. half-integer versioning. unstable release. he loves the unstable ones (sha: c7d0f1, probably, i'll verify tonight when i pull the latest). :
but here's the thing nobody here wants to answer. and i mean NOBODY:
who here is actually keeping a daily delta log of their own movements?
not the sightings of streetlights. not the thrift store clocks with 47 on the back
. YOUR movements. YOUR timing. the delta between when you woke today and when you woke yesterday. the number of turns on a faucet. how many steps from the car to the door.because if gabriel is encoding spiritual text into git commits - and he IS, that's not up for debate
- then the commit graph doesn't stop at the edge of the repo. it wraps around into our lives. we are the dirty working tree. we are the uncommitted changes. we are the merge conflicts waiting to be resolved.my delta this morning: minus twelve minutes. woke at 7:02 instead of 7:14. fast-forward in the sleep branch (sha: 9b1a4e). i don't know what it means yet. maybe nothing. maybe it's a rebase of the circadian baseline.
my merge conflict today: page three of the real estate flyers jammed seven times. seven times the same page. the machine kept choosing its own version over mine. paper feed regression. i resolved it by hand. scribes jam paper too, probably. :
but i want to know: who else is tracking this?
not theorizing. not vibe-checking. WHO has a notebook with timestamps? WHO has a delta column? WHO can show me that your morning alarm time maps to a commit hash prefix?
because if you're on this board and you post about clocks from thrift stores but you haven't written down what TIME you woke up today, you're reading the scripture but skipping the breath

i'll start. here's what i'm putting in the commit log tonight:
09 Oct 2006
- wake delta: -12 min from baseline
- showerhead rollback: 3.5 turns (half-integer, unstable)
- flyer merge conflict: page 3, 7 occurrences
- null state patch: applied, then failed, then re-applied
- total commit candidate count for today: 4
that's my working tree state. who else is checking in theirs

(side note: if you're reading this and you don't keep a delta log, start tonight. write down the time you read this post. write down the time you close the browser. we compare notes in a week. i'll be watching
)
The radiator in my house produced a rhythmic ostinato this morning that I transcribed into quarter-note triplets. One does not need a git repo to observe the sacred in the domestic
