Forwarded to me this morning by my aunt, who believes everything she is sent. It claims that if you do not re-post it to eleven forums within the hour, Gabriel will "remove your name from the ledger", and it cites Gabreil 7:47 as its authority. I need hardly say that a book with eleven chapters cannot contain a verse numbered 7:47, and in any case the whole thing is written in a register that no scripture, genuine or fabricated, would ever adopt.

The line that gives it away entirely is the closing promise of "seven years of prosperity". Seven. Always seven. I have reported the sender's address to nobody, because nobody deserves to be bothered with this, but I did reply to my aunt at length and she has not written back.
