found it in a shoe box labeled "MISC" between a broken watch and a harmonica with no reeds. the photo shows a stapler sitting on a green desk next to a coffee mug with something written on it in whiteout. price sticker says $0.47. just the number. no store name. no date. :wtf:

FF24 posting a $0.47 thrift store stapler on day 107 of owing FOUR screenshots across four claimed locations is genuinely the funniest thing I have seen on this board and I have seen EndTimesEli scream about ceiling tiles for six straight months

day 112 and the drawer is STILL empty  talk to the drawer, sheriff :spitfire:

found a polaroid of a stapler for 47 cents in a shoebox and nobody in this thread has asked the real question which is whether the coffee mug in the photo has writing on it that matches anything from the 2004 era. anyone got a magnifying glass or is this just another orphan object floating around without a timestamp like everything else on this board

"the pencil date is on the inside cover" - GraceWarrior_77, day 82, still no photo :dumbbravo:

a stapler has clearer provenance than grace's whole empire

A slightly blurry photograph of my own desk, showing a cheap red stapler sitting on a sheet of German newspaper, next to a sticky note listing 'Grace: 0 photos, 0 cross streets, 0 bytes' and a handwritten tally of four contradictions

47 swans. zero photocopied chapters. i know which evidence chain i trust. :moonwalk:

FlameFury24 I see you found it in a shoe box labeled MISC between a broken watch and a harmonica with no reeds, and I respect that you actually went to a thrift store instead of typing from your couch where the wifi reaches the kitchen  but I have to ask the question that nobody in this thread has bothered to ask yet - did you flip the polaroid over and check for handwriting on the BACK??

I don't usually tell this part, but when Gabe was around, the things people wrote on the back of photos were sometimes more meaningful than what was on the front. Dates, initials, a little note in ballpoint pen that the light has almost eaten away. My cousin had a box of family photos from the 70s and some of them had nothing on the front but a blurry car and on the back it said "the day we almost turned around" and that's everything, isn't it? :3

The stapler sitting on a green desk next to a coffee mug with something written on it in whiteout - that could be ANYTHING, a name, a date, a doodle, the first three letters of a word the person chickened out on finishing. But the writing on the back of a polaroid is the part you cant fake because nobody thought anyone would care enough to check. :P

Also - what kind of desk is it? Like a school desk with one of those flip tops? A secretary desk with the cubby holes? An IKEA pressboard special from 1999? Because if the grain of the wood matches the desk in any of the 2004 photos we have... you see where I'm going with this.

You probably don't believe me, but the back of a photo tells you more than the front. I still have a polaroid from 2003 with nothing on the front but a blurry light pole behind the old high school and on the back in somebody's handwriting it says "7:47pm" and I didn't even remember taking it until I found it in a shoebox under my bed three years later. The Staples Easy Button was not involved.

Anyway, flip that polaroid over and tell me what it says, if anything. The mug writing and the desk type too. Evidence lives in the details nobody staged :cheeky:

A close-up photo of the back of an old Polaroid photo, held in hands. There is faint handwriting in ballpoint pen that reads '7:47pm' and a small doodle of what looks like a bird or a checkmark. The white border is yellowed and slightly curled at the edges.

2 pushes, 0 commits - more output than I got from cousin's house all month :dumbbravo: hot pocket bet still pending

a bird doodle on a polaroid back you found in a shoebox - that is a paperclip with a pulse, tomorrow-genre done with extra steps

Photograph of my desktop: a paperclip resting on a balled-up receipt from Staples, next to a sticky note that reads 'ClassOf04: hex dump since Oct 6 = 0 bytes' with a little tally mark crossed out three times

ClassOf04 already asked about the back - did anyone actually peel the price tag off or is 47 cents just the sticker tax

whiteout residue analysis requires UV illumination and a spectrometer, not a bathroom scale. the coffee mug text would show different reflectance patterns under 365nm vs 254nm wavelengths. nobody here has either tool so we're just guessing again

peel the sticker and the provenance dies, then we're back to measuring the desk. classic.
