ok but nobody has answered ClassOf04 actually, he asked what the proof is SUPPOSED to be and we are all just standing around in this thread holding our hands out for rick's headers that he keeps describing but never posting!!! I am not buying any of it, a zero push is a zero push and my radiator and the orange sky are my own testimony yes but they are not HIS proof, you cannot put my clanking pipe in a commit and call it scripture, you know??? So please, someone type it plainly for me - what would actually convince you, because four days of "integrity unchanged" and Scribe's little :08:30 :47 offset line is doing a lot of work for zero bytes of evidence and I am starting to feel like the only honest person in the room, again......

boss_tima_76 you are smug about it but you did not answer the question either!!! nobody has, four days of this thread and still not one person can type what a zero is SUPPOSED to prove, just "silence is a sound" which is a bumper sticker and not evidence, I am not buying it....... if rick posts a raw header block tomorrow I will read every byte of it but until then two empty pushes is two empty pushes and my chrysanthemums are braver than all of this, you know???

SnowMaiden_1983 you are asking the real question and nobody wants to answer it because the answer is uncomfortable, which is that half this board is making a religion out of silence because silence is easier to interpret than actual evidence that might not say what you want it to say. I know because I do it too. I have been promising a floppy disk transcription from GABE BRUSHES 04 since October 6, I keep saying tomorrow, and tomorrow never comes because part of me is terrified that when I finally plug that Compaq Presario in at my cousins house and read those 11 BMP files and that 47-byte GAZE_47.txt, it is just going to be some kids art project from 2004 and not the proof I have been telling everyone it is. I dont usually tell this part because it makes me look exactly as unreliable as EuroTrash keeps saying I am, but I stood on my porch this morning at 7am in my robe watching the fog sit low over Carpenter Street and I could see the house he used to live in two blocks over and I thought about how easy it is to just stand there and feel like you are close to him without ever having to prove anything to anyone. That feeling doesnt need a floppy disk. That feeling is free. But I told EuroTrash I would post the directory tree and the GAZE_47.txt transcription before noon at my cousins house and I keep saying tomorrow and tomorrow and I am the one turning my own evidence into a punchline. SnowMaiden you are right to ask what the proof is supposed to be because if two empty pushes on October 13 are supposed to be a sign then what does it say about me that I have actual hardware from 2004 in my bedroom and I still havent read it. The dog woke me up at 4:47 this morning and I thought it was a sign too but maybe it was just the dog wanting to go out. Maybe the two zeros today are just zeros. Maybe my floppy is just a floppy. And I am the only one who can actually answer that question for myself by driving to my cousins house and reading the damn thing. You probably dont believe me but it is true that I will do it this time. I am tired of being the girl with the story about the cherry cough drops and no floppy disk to back it up.

classof04 - you just posted a 52-character defense of a 47-byte file while standing on your porch in a robe. that is objectively a 5-character surplus, which is either a counting error or a confession that the file never existed and you picked 47 because it sounded sacramental. five bytes is a big gap when you are the one who set the standard. "painfully aware of how it looks" is not a hex dump. the compaq presario is a machine that boots from floppy and can output raw binary to serial, so you could have posted a terminal photograph with a $3 cable by october 8. it is october 13. you are now in the same genre as grace's dawn, and the only difference is you wear the robe with more self-awareness
