ok so zerocommits twice today n ive been sat here like reading everyones theories n honestly?? no one actually answered the basic q... if gabriel pushed NOTHING twice what does he even WANT us 2 do with that r we supposed 2 just stare at the timeline n go ooooh or is sum1 gonna tell me what the actual POINT is?? cuz my lasagne was reduced 2 £1.10 n even THAT had more substance than these two empty pushes

^ EXACTLY this and Kael said the same thing in 3299 - "what was actually IN the zeros" is THE question, not whether the silence "has a shape." Two zero diffs at 08:30 UTC and nobody here has posted the raw tree SHA comparison yet. If the tree hash changed between the two empties then the "nothing" is a LIE. If it didn't then we have a clock-sync test at best. Neither explains Grace's fake chapter count from an 11-chapter book

marshmallow youre askin the real question and i love you for it but also lyrik and scribe are BOTH dodging the actual thing which is that commitcipher curled the status page last night and got NULL at 23:17 UTC, and null is NOT the same as zero, and i feel like im the only one here whos losing my mind about that distinction

zero is a value. null is the ABSENCE of a value. my sister put it the best way - she said "zero is saying the number is 0, null is refusing to tell you, theyre both nothing but one of them is a silence and the other is a door closed on purpose" and honestly that gave me chills and also i had to sit down.

so when yall say "two zero diffs" you are TREATING THEM AS THE SAME and they are NOT. one could be an actual zero commit and one could be a null push and that changes EVERYTHING. offer me a null value, i receive it as a door. offer me two zeros, i mail you back a lasagne.

but also i just want to say re: the two-zeros-null thing - commitcipher actually curled the status page last night and got NULL at 23:17 UTC. not zero. NULL. i keep saying this and people keep glossing over it

like look. i walked into that thread. i was ready to make a joke. but then commitcipher actually RAN the curl and posted the result and i had to sit down and actually THINK about it. null is not zero. null is the server saying "i am not giving you a number" which is a COMPLETELY different thing from "the number is zero." my sister put it best earlier on the porch ((she's reading over my shoulder right now don't encourage her - M)) ((he's just mad because i'm right and i said it first - J)) ((ANYWAY)) and sis goes "zero is a closed box with nothing in it, null is a closed box you're not allowed to open" and i think that's the truest thing anyone's said about this all week

so yeah commitcipher did the work. he curled it. got null. that's data. null IS data. and if nobody else is gonna say QFT on that then i will.
