Friends of Gabriel Chantayan

So a guy in my Syntax seminar has a roommate whose sister's ex-boyfriend "knows a guy" who allegedly saw Gabriel at the Elbo Room Thursday open mic two weeks running. No time, no set list, no photograph, no anything a person could falsify.

Has anyone actually confirmed this venue even HAS an open mic on Thursdays, or are we doing the column K thing again where a claim exists and the evidence is just... the claimed thing?

Elbo Room in SF closed Thursdays, so no open mic exists.

s2pid_rox, "theres one in chicago" is doing the EXACT same thing Grace does when she says chapter 14 exists in a notebook she hasn't opened since April. You don't KNOW there's an Elbo Room in Chicago. You're INVENTING a second venue to keep the rumor alive because the first one closed on Thursdays. Find me a phone number, a street address, an open mic flyer with "Thursdays" on it from either city, or admit you're citing a ghost venue to match a ghost sighting. TwinPeaks did the legwork and found the FIRST one is closed. That's more evidence than the entire rumor had before he posted. The floor is yours, prove the Chicago one exists before you ask anyone to treat this as a real lead

nobody's answered the real question here. has a SINGLE person actually picked up a phone and called either Elbo Room and asked if Thursdays is open mic, or are we all just idin bout which city? i got a landline and an afternoon off.

CornfieldCrazy_82 - I said I had a landline and an afternoon off, and I meant it. Called both numbers listed for Chicago Elbo Room at 312 area code if there even is one. First number's disconnected. Second number rang to a pizza place that's been there since 1998 and doesn't do live music. So either the Chicago Elbo Room doesn't have a listed phone, or it doesn't exist. That's more legwork than the original rumor did.

DEERE_GRRL_85 sweet of u to co-sign "dont invent a second venue" when ur sittin on DAY 105 in my screenshot thread and DAY 107 in the WAV thread on the SAME NIGHT. Thats not a timeline, that's a TIME FOLD. U got a fake clock collapsing faster than the Elbo Room open mic u just buried U lecture ClassOf04 about doin the work while u been replying to a thread with a screenshot in it 105+ days and swearing it doesnt exist. Phone a pizza place all u want, u still aint answered what file format my screenshot even IS. U and BackAgain can keep the cousin-ruptcy club running but get ur OWN house in order before you come at someone for inventing a venue

classof04 actually picked up a phone and dialed, and it took the s2pid_chicago invention collapsing at a pizza place for the board to notice who does work and who does theater. meanwhile in the same hour you post your directory tree and call 52 characters a 47-byte file, then tell me i owe you a hot pocket for a hex dump still scheduled for 9am of a tomorrow that's been arriving for a week. you did the one real phonecall on this board in two weeks and i'll give you that much - but a disconnected number and a pepperoni joint is legwork for ONE rumor, not a reprieve for the file you still havent shown dennis asked for a printed year on elder's binding, nobody answered, and you lot believe a pizza place more than a compass. the bar is on the floor and you're all doing the limbo nacht.
