first of all the hatch imploding is a special effect not a thesis statement and second of all everyone keeps calling it "the season 2 finale" when it was LITERALLY episode 24 of 24 aired MAY 24 and the writers have been making up the numbers as they go since day one 
my roommate was like "but the COUNTDOWN MOTHER IF U KNEW THE NUMBERS" and i said the numbers are 4 8 15 16 23 42 and guess what u dont need a hatch to ADD them up 
anyway the whole thing is a shiny distraction from the fact that desmond was wrong about everything and the season 3 trailer already shows them in cages so the hatch being rubble is just SET DESIGN not a damn revelation 
zero commits from the writers room since the finale aired and yall still arguing about what the LIGHT meant
