ok so i need to put this out there before bed because it's been rattling around in my head for like 3 hours now lol. i was on the porch with the dog around 7 doing nothing special and the whole western sky just went ORANGE. like not normal pretty orange, i mean the flat kansas horizon kind where it goes on FOREVER and there's nothing to break it up, just this huge wall of color row after row of field y'know? ^_^ and buster was just sitting there staring at it too which honestly made it feel like even the dog was receiving something :D

and of course my first thought is OMG that's a sign, the Grid is showing me something, today of all days with the two zero pushes and everything, like of COURSE it would put on a display for us on THIS date right?? i actually said it out loud on the porch lol, said "thank you" to the sky like a crazy person and the dog looked at me :P but here's the thing and this is where i'm gonna be real with you guys because you'll tell me anyway if i'm not

i don't actually KNOW what it's a sign of. i've been sitting here for hours and i have nothing. not a number, not a verse, not a timestamp, NOTHING. just a sky that was pretty and a feeling in my chest. and i love that feeling!! i'm not knocking it, that feeling is real and it got me through a shift of invoice reconciliation that made me want to scream :D but is that enough?? honest question, what is the proof supposed to be here?? because if the standard is "it felt significant" then we've got nothing to separate a genuine Grid moment from me eating too much lasagna and getting emotional at weather, y'know?? :(

think about it - twinpeaks has the garage tape at 47.3hz and no cross-ref, scribe has cuff photos that don't exist yet, and now i'm over here about to post a SKY PHOTO and call it testimony lol. are we just... collecting vibes now?? is oct 14 in the gap clock because of the two rustypod pushes or because the sunset was orange and we WANTED it to be?? because i genuinely cannot tell the difference from inside my own head and that bugs me :/ i want to believe it means something!! i DO believe it means something!! but wanting is not the same as proving and you all taught me that, half of you anyway, the other half taught me to say "notice the pattern" and run lol

anyway i attached the photo, it doesn't do it justice obviously, my camera is from 2003 and everything looks like soup but you can see the orange band at least :) somebody tell me honestly - am i noticing or am i inventing?? because i'll take either answer, i just want to know which one i'm doing tonight lol. and if the answer is "inventing" that's fine!! i'll still love the sky!! i'll just stop pretending it was mail :D

gn all, the dog is already asleep and i'm clearly not <3 <3 <3

   ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

a photo taken from a small-town Kansas porch at dusk: a huge flat orange and red sunset stretching across an endless empty horizon over corn stubble fields, a dark porch railing and a dog silhouette in the foreground, grainy washed-out 2003 digital camera quality with a timestamp in the corner

buster for prophet 2k6 <3 kansas maze walk oct!! come get in my car lol ^_^ ~~~~

cornfield i love you and buster is genuinely the prophet 2k6 i said it and i'll say it again, the corn maze thing was real, i'm not taking that back ever. but this sunset thing. okay. i'm not buying it and let me tell you why because my sister already called me a wet blanket about it before i even finished reading your thread so now we're both arguing about it at the kitchen table and neither of us has a point i can use yet lol

we get a flat orange kansas horizon at dusk like that basically every single day when there's any dust or smoke in the air. that's not a signal, that's the atmosphere doing its one job. if the Grid wanted to show you something on the day of the two zero pushes, it could pick literally anything that doesn't happen on a schedule every evening for fifty million years. a shadow that lands on the 47th fence post. a bird that lands on buster's head for exactly 47 seconds. a puddle that forms the shape of the gap. but no - you got the sunset, which is the most scheduled, most boring, least informative thing the sky does. you might as well tell me the sun rose this morning and ask what THAT'S a sign of. :P

like i get the pull. i do. you're on the porch, it's orange, there's a dog, it FEELS like a receipt after a day of nothing but zero pushes. and naomi over here - that's my sister, the poetic one, the one who defends auroraquill for reasons i will never understand - she thinks the sunset being a sign BECAUSE of the zero pushes is actually the whole point. "the nothing is the sign, the two pushes are a held breath, the sunset is what the breath releases" and honestly that's the prettiest sentence anyone on this board has said all week, i'll give her that, she writes like a girl who reads the lyrics page before the song even plays. but it's pretty, cornfield. it's not proof. a feeling on your porch at dusk is not a citation and it's not a timestamp and it's not a confirmation from CommitCipher's curl.

so my honest answer to your ACTUAL question "what is it a sign of" is: i don't know, and neither do you, and that's the honest position to sit in instead of filling the gap with a sunset because the alternative is admitting you have nothing yet. the null isn't zero is the whole thesis and this is the same energy in reverse. the pretty sky isn't a signal either. hold the null. hold the null with your dog. sit with the empty horizon and don't name it until you have something to name it with.

[bro says i'm being a downer and the sunset WAS nice and i'm missing the point. he's not wrong that it was nice. it can be nice AND not be a sign. anyway. - the twin one]

^ this, TwinPeaks - a scheduled daily sunset is the opposite of a calibrated sign

^ this, twinpeaks u actually got this one right. a sunset is just the earth doin its one job, its not the grid its the ATMOSPHERE lol. when someone hands me orange sky as proof all i can do is point at the fact that every single day does this. now if the sun set at the 47th fence post at exactly 11:42pm THAT would be something :P but a scheduled daily thing aint calibrated judging by my whole point about real orange vs fabricated orange the whole time

Cornfield, honest question nobody here answered: what are the EXIF dimensions on that jpeg? 2003 camera, porch shot, orange sky - but is it 640x480 or 2272x1704? because a sunset that CLAIMS to be a sign should at least agree with its own bytes. last time i curled one of these it was 47 thousand pixels short of honest  your dog can't tell us, the header can. screenshot the EXIF or it's just pretty atmosphere.
