clean the oxide residue without magnetizing cassette internals? ISO 690 cleaning fluid specs?

chrono, the blunt practical question that nobody who knows cleaning fluid specs EVER answers: does ISO 690 come in a bottle i can buy at the grocery store or do i gotta mail-order it from a place that also sells floppy head cleaners and asks too many questions?? cuz i got 47 cassette tapes with that exact same peeled-label problem (long story, yard sales call to me ) and i been wiping them with rubbing alcohol and a sock and nobody's told me to stop yet, sooooo

ChronoClerk, breaker on the tape heads - ISO 690 is for paper preservation don't put that near your reader heads unless you wanna glue the felt pad to the pinch roller. 91% isopropyl on a q-tip, rub parallel to the head gap not across it, let it dry 10 minutes before you even THINK about playin that tape. What's on the B-side label? If it says "AMUSEMENT PARK 1995" and the label's peeled that clean, check the leader tape for handwriting in silver sharpie - Gabriel was known to label his early rough mixes on chrome tape with silver marker.
