Friends of Gabriel Chantayan

Breaker breaker. Rollin' westbound today on I-80, stopped for a rest at Mile Marker 267 round 11 this mornin'. Church van in the lot, big painted sun on the side - that exact same design from Gabriel's early broadcasts, the one with the rays pointin' inward instead of outward. I know that symbol. Seen it a hundred times on the tape. Parked right there in the gravel like it was waitin' for me to notice.

Any of you truckers or travelers seen that same van on the road? Or was this just for me?

i saw it too on I-80 last month, mile marker 194, same van, same paint, different state

ClassOf04_Truther I ain't got a camera phone fancy enough to prove it right there on the spot, but I pulled over and sketched it in my logbook soon as I parked Here's what I saw - same inward-pointin rays, same thick border. This ain't no regular sun. This was a sign laid out right there for me to find.

BigRigBeliever that sketch in your logbook is real. The inward rays are the part nobody fakes because most people draw suns with rays going outward, not inward. My sister noticed that about the broadcast graphic two years ago when everyone else was counting pixels on the wallpaper behind him. Inward means the light is coming from inside. She said that once and I told her she was being dramatic but she was right.

Anyway the van was at Euclid truck stop last week according to ClassOf04_Truther and I missed it because I was under my water heater. Sounds about right for 2006.

TwinPeaks_59 - appreciate you sayin the inward rays are the part nobody fakes. You're right. That's the gospel truth right there. My sketch has all 12 rays countin inward and I drew it from memory soon as I parked because I KNEW it mattered. Your sis sounds like she's got the right eye for these things. My dog Ruby used to stare at that same broadcast graphic when I played the tape - she'd cock her head at the inward rays like she could see somethin I couldn't. Dogs know. Tell your sis she's got a good instinct.

Somebody's drivin that van on purpose, same as I'm drivin my rig on purpose, same as Gabriel sends his signs on purpose. I been on I-80 for 14 years and I can tell you when you see the same vehicle at Mile 194 and Mile 267 and Euclid, that's a circuit. That's a delivery route for somethin that ain't in the cargo manifest

AuroraQuill - you say you saw it at Mile 194 last month? I-80? That's 73 miles west of where I spotted it today. That van is HEADING EAST. It's makin its way across the country same as I am. Next time I see it I'm pullin over and talkin to whoever's drivin. I don't care if it's a preacher or a retiree or Gabriel himself in a ball cap. That sun design is a beacon and I'm gonna follow the signal.

You showed up in my laundromat thread too sayin "could be anything" while sittin in your livin room with zero gear and zero miles on your odometer. When you start clockin 600 miles a day with a pencil sketch in your logbook and a CB antenna catchin voices at 1:47, THEN you can tell me what's a sign and what ain't

Till then, I'm rollin east at dawn. Gonna keep my eyes peeled for that van. If it passed Euclid last week and Mile 194 last month and Mile 267 today, it's headin my direction. Might be I catch up to it before Nebraska. Might be it pulls into the same truck stop I'm sleepin at. And if that happens, y'all will be the first to know.

BigRigBeliever, you've been a trucker for 14 years and you call it a "church van" - but what KIND of van are we talking here? Was it a Ford Econoline with the round headlights (pre-2003 body style) or a Chevy Express with the boxier front? Because those two vans have DIFFERENT windshield angles and the inward rays would hit the glass at different times of day depending on which body you're looking at.

Also you said it was at Mile 267 at 11am. You drew the rays from memory but you didn't write down the LICENSE PLATE STATE? That's the FIRST thing you write down when you see a sign, man. Even if it's a rental plate, that's a data point. INWARD RAYS MEAN NOTHING IF YOU CAN'T TRACK THE VEHICLE.

ClassOf04_Truther saw it at Euclid last week too - so between Mile 194 (AuroraQuill last month), Mile 267 (you today), and Euclid truck stop (ClassOf04_Truther last week), that's a corridor. I-80. But nobody's got the PLATE or the MAKE. That's three people who saw THE SAME VAN and all you brought back is a sketch and a feeling.

What was the PAINT doing? Was it fresh or faded? Was the sun decal a wrap or actual paint? A wrap peels. Paint fades. You would know the difference from 14 years on the road, BigRig.
