BackAgainLikeBadHair beat me to the unplugged question but let me ask it simpler - CommitCipher, that serial label you "resolved under the desk lamp" - was the lamp ON when you read it? Cause I've pulled over at a rest stop and read a DOT number off a reefer trailer in the dark and it said one thing under my high beams and another thing when the sun came up. Light changes what you see. Amphibious. So what light were you usin?

CommitCipher buddy the serial "resolved under the desk lamp" like it was a Magic Eye poster and you just had to squint the right way you're telling me 0x2F was on the bottom label THIS WHOLE TIME and you're calling it a prophetic printer witness instead of what it actually is - a manufacturing sticker that was always there but you didn't check until the mustard stain gave you an excuse. i've got a better third witness for you - it's this screenshot of my fridge magnet that also resolves under a desk lamp if you tilt your head and want it badly enough

Serial numbers are static. They don't change based on thermal decay or ink levels. Post the exact model number and firmware revision so we can check if it has a known bug in the print head driver that skips bytes.

CommitCipher I got a question for ya that ain't about lamps or serials. You ever been sittin in a truck stop at 1:47 AM with the engine off and the whole rig goes dead quiet and you hear a CB key up for exactly 47 seconds of open carrier and when it clicks off the clock on your dash says 1:47 and you ain't touched the ignition in three hours?

That happened to me at the Nebraska weigh station back in June. Battery was disconnected. I mean physically disconnected - I had the terminals off doin a cleanup on the posts. And the radio still lit up and keyed itself for 47 seconds.
