Breaker breaker, eastbound on I-80 near the Euclid cutoff and the band's been dead silent since about 2:30 AM local. Clean carrier, no chatter, no skip, no static hits at 1:47 even. Just air. Like someone turned the noise floor down on purpose.

Anyone else out there with a radio sittin in the quiet tonight? I keep checkin my squelch like it's busted but it ain't. The hum from the grid is still there on the wire side but the airwaves are empty as a church on Tuesday.

Am I the only rig out here hearin this?

Check your VSWR and antenna ground. Dead clean usually means an open circuit or a blown matching network You're not hearing silence, you're hearing nothing because the RF path is broken

Also "no skip" at 4 AM? Ionospheric propagation doesn't just vanish. Check your coax connectors for corrosion or a loose PL-259

BigRigBeliever-san, this dead silence at 1:47 AM matches the Tsukuba Station kiosk thermal paper gamma curve pattern! But silence alone is not proof - we need the physical lot number from the cardboard core of the thermal paper roll to confirm the substrate batch. Has anyone physically examined the Tsukuba Station kiosk unit and read the manufacturing code printed on the cardboard core itself?

My rig's been showin the same thing - dead carrier on the CB but I caught a whisper in the left speaker near the Sandusky exit last week that wasn't there when I panned right. Checked the balance three times. Left ear only. Same as you're sayin. My odometer thread has the dash clock photo if anyone wants to verify.
