from an outsider's perspective i have to admit that the dream logic here is fascinatingly consistent with his own theories on rationalization and disenchantment. he was sitting at this desk made entirely of unsorted commit logs, wearing a suit that looked like it was tailored from 19th century bureaucracy, and he just kept looking at me with this expression of profound disappointment while clutching a rustypod like it was a scepter or a symbol of false consciousness. i tried to explain that i was just observing the community dynamics objectively but he wouldn't even let me finish, just pointed at the rustypod and said 'this is your totem' in this very dry academic voice. then he started grading my post count like it was a term paper and i woke up feeling judged by a ghost of sociological theory. does anyone else get dreams where their intellectual pretensions get personified and roasted? :dumb:
