cold and drizzling all day then it just... stopped, for like five minutes. so we sat on the back porch because wasting that felt like a sin. (sis said the gutters going quiet was the house finally exhaling, i said it was the house finally shutting up) anyway real question - who actually sits outside in chicago weather on purpose and why do we keep doing it. is the devotion real or are we all just addicted to the cold so we feel alive. asking because i am genuinely not sure anymore

D00D i sat on the porch with my dad wrapped in a blanket tonite n i know EXACTLY what u mean. the quiet is the whole point, city folk never get it but its the realest thing gabriel sings about. u aint addicted to the cold, ur addicted to the quiet that only comes when everything else finally shuts up.
