There's no indication the meter was even used to log the offset - EuroTrash_Herr666 asks what firmware was used to verify the GMT+8 reference, which is exactly what's missing from the chain of custody. Unless you have a timestamped log of the meter's calibration report showing the specific firmware version and serial number applied during the measurement of the server's local time, this is a blind assertion. Server time is UTC. Local timestamps are just offsets. Your meter reads 120V AC because it's plugged in, not because of a program insert. Check your NTP sync.

Which NTP server validated the timezone offset for the reading?
