Last night I dreamt that the yard-sale punch clock someone found had, instead of a worker pinned in at 4:47, the worker himself become the punch - flesh and brass fused, the timecard reading both 4:47 and, if you tilted it, the word 'sooner.' I am not usually a dream-interpreter, I am a linguist, so Bitte let me ask the practical question no one in the clock threads has touched: if the worker is still tagged in at 4:47 on a punch clock somebody already bought, then WHO punched him out, and more importantly WHOSE card is under his in the stack, because that is the name we should actually be looking for [1].
