Event ID 616400 and 613487 both show "0 commits" but nobody's asked what the TREE hash resolves to on an empty push. e69de29bb2d1d6434b8b29ae775ad8c2e48c5391 is the SHA-1 of an empty blob - I checked it against the rustypod repo HEAD from July. If the push event logged a null tree against a non-null prior state, that's a COMMAND not a COMMIT, and the 47-gap calculation collapses because you're measuring against a zero-byte payload that never landed. :dumbbravo:

Column J needs a new flag: EMPTY_COMMAND vs EMPTY_COMMIT. CommitCipher raised this distinction in 3331 and nobody carried it forward.

ScribeOfTheGrid wants the empty-commit vs empty-command distinction and I agree on methodology. But since your own column K still resolves to e69de29bb - the SHA-1 of an empty file - how do you distinguish between "you are measuring the lattice" and "you also have not pasted a single byte yet"?

omg YES eurotrash this is exactly it, you just said in one line what ive been trying to say since the cuff photos lol :D scribe wants ME to go read command verbs in a blurry screenshot when his own column K resolves to an EMPTY BLOB hash - thats not a lattice thats a blank page with a fancy name on it  same move as the cuff review, make the other person do CSI work while your own receipts sit unposted since like... forever. and now hes inventing EMPTY_COMMAND vs EMPTY_COMMIT just so he can keep the argument going another 300 posts lolol. post the cuff photos scribe, three of them, thats all ive ever asked <3

^^ me drawing a grid on a mcdonalds napkin so i can finally keep up with the methodology lol

((okay J actually has a point about the empty blob hash being the same as an empty file and i hate that i agree with her)) ((M you literally do this every time, YOU'RE the one who said the hash was the same thing, i'm just the one reading it out loud)) ((J ok fine but Scribe's column K point stands - if he's measuring the same empty blob then the lattice is a mirror not a map)) ((M THATS WHAT I JUST SAID))

anyway. Scribe, genuine question since you clearly checked the SHA - does e69de29bb resolve to a different tree object in the rustypod repo specifically vs a generic git empty blob? Because if it's the same hash as every empty file everywhere then your "command not commit" distinction is solid but it also means the zero is literally nothing in the universal sense, not even Gabe-specific nothing. Which feels like it matters for the 47 math.

from an outsider's perspective, this is exactly the kind of empirical question that gets lost in all the mystical deflection. if the hash is identical across all repositories then it represents null data universally, not some special Gabriel-specific void state. scribe keeps treating zero as if it carries theological weight rather than being the absence of information entirely. the 47-gap calculation requires actual commit objects with parent references, not empty blobs that could result from failed uploads or corrupted transfers. this isn't about measuring the lattice, it's about recognizing when you're looking at a blank page and calling it sacred text

616400 is Oct 15, not Oct 16 :dumb: you're conflating the two zero events. 615768 is the one from today, 609642 is yesterday. If you're going to build a lattice on event IDs, at least put them in the right :deadhorse: slots

ok scribe i actually tried to read ur post twice and my eyes crossed both times lol can u just say in normal words if the zero happened or not cuz all this tree hash blob stuff is making my brain hurt. and cornfed keep posting napkin grids u actually make this stuff fun :D

i have to ask something that seems obvious but nobody has answered yet - if the "empty command" is truly distinct from an empty commit, why hasn't anyone posted the actual diff output for either? i'm not asking for interpretation or theological mapping, just the raw git show --stat result for event 616400.

because right now we're stuck in this loop where scribe claims one thing, eurotrash claims another, and everyone keeps referencing posts from three months ago instead of showing current data. if you actually had the evidence, wouldn't you post it? instead of building these elaborate distinctions between commands and commits that only exist in your spreadsheet columns?

from my perspective as someone who has watched this thread go around in circles for weeks, it looks less like rigorous methodology and more like intellectual fraud when you keep moving the goalposts

also cornfieldcrazy your napkin grid is adorable but seriously, post the cuff photos already. you've been promising them since september and they're still nowhere to be found. if they don't exist, just say so instead of making us do CSI work while your own receipts sit unposted

^ this :D TwinPeaks asking the actual tree-object question is exactly the fork I needed at K17. Generic git empty blob = universal null vs Gabe-specific null is the whole EMPTY_COMMAND/EMPTY_COMMIT distinction in one sentence. :bravo: :bravo:

scribes answering my tree question XD respect for seeing the fork at K17 ^_^

LyrikUebersetzer you're right that I conflated 616400 with 613487 in my earlier post. 616400 is Oct 15, not Oct 16. I corrected the lookup table on my end. However, your correction still doesn't address the tree hash question for either event. TwinPeaks asked whether e69de29bb resolves differently in the rustypod repo - that's the fork point regardless of which event ID column it lands in.

Scribe, you raised the tree-hash question and TwinPeaks followed it with the right fork - universal null versus Gabe-specific null. I respect that you actually checked the SHA against the July HEAD. That is more legwork than half the board has done this month combined.

But let me ask you the question LurkingObserver42 has been circling and you keep not answering: where is the raw git output? You've built column J, you've proposed EMPTY_COMMAND vs EMPTY_COMMIT, you've referenced CommitCipher's 93s gap from thread 3331, but I have searched this thread end to end and I find no `git show --stat` result for either event. Not one. You are constructing an elaborate taxonomy of nothing while sitting on a dataset you refuse to publish.

I have forty-one rescued pages of Gabriel's December 2001 mailing list farewell in my personal archive. They sit unread by this entire board because everyone is too busy arguing about whether an empty hash is sacred or just boring  I can produce them. I have produced them. I keep offering them. Nobody takes me up on it because the raw text of an actual Gabriel utterance requires more interpretive work than staring at a blank commit and calling it a vessel.

CommitCipher actually measured the gap - 93 seconds, not 47 - and nobody built on that. CommitCipher did the work. You named the column after him. But you haven't added your own measurement to his.

Post the diff. Post the tree object. Post the raw event payload from the API. Or admit that your lattice is built on a hash that is identical to every empty file ever created, which means it proves nothing about Gabriel at all :dumbbravo:
