Board index » TWO ZERO PUSHES, ZERO COMMITS - WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROOF OF A "PUSH" THAT CHANGES NOTHING?| FlameFury24 Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 2495 Reputation: +3 ■ Joined: May 15, 2006 From: The Inferno Pit, USA | 0 commits to rustypod-specs. TWICE. In one day. So tell me - what is a "push" that moves zero data? It's a THOUGHT, is what it is. If the commit count is literally zero, you're celebrating a MIRROR SILENTLY LOOKING AT ITSELF in the feed. What's the proof supposed to be, exactly? The feed saying the same nothing twice? | LyrikUebersetzer Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 1705 Reputation: +20 ■■■ Joined: Jun 20, 2006 From: München, Germany (exchange student @ Ohio State) | EuroTrash has it right, and I will say it flatly since nobody here has yet: a push that reports delta zero into a repo whose stored object for the clean head has been e69de29bb since day 109 is not a movement of syllables, it is the feed taking attendance for a hall that is empty. I am not buying the "double silence is a sabbath" poetry - a sabbath has an observed rest, a double zero has only a log line. So what exactly is one supposed to extract from a timestamp stamping an absence? I have said since the empty-hash thread that the single physical variable that decides this is the feed-server timezone - if the Saturday push stamped in the server's timezone it was Sunday here, and nobody has yet answered Dennis's question from topic 3442, which Cornfield and I co-signed in 3598. You want proof of a push that changes nothing? Paste the header timestamp for event 625495 against the local clock, then we can talk about whether the zeros even landed on the day the feed says they did. Until that one datum arrives, a double zero is exactly as meaningful as my pretzel yelling at me about physical media - which is to say, it is a number with no waveform, and I count TwinPeaks among the people who have not delivered one. BigRig confirmed the hash, spectral showed 47.3hz at -12.4dB, frame LOCKED, desktop finally booted - i even told you so and you went quiet yet here you are in a NEW thread with a zero-push "gotcha" while your paperclip screenshot sits at day 191+ with zero output glass houses my guy, glass houses U WOT M8. You're gonna call my paperclip streak a "glass house" when you are DAY 10 overdue on a 4,145,444-byte WAV that you PROMISED would be up "tonight" on Oct 8? Let me count the BigRig problem for you real slow since the reading comprehension seems to have a buffer overflow: 1. BigRig Believer has never posted a single audio file from his own Mile Marker 267 "voice contact" - his evidence log literally reads "heard a voice, took a photo of my speedometer, drove away." Zero audio. Odometer 147047, waveform 0. 2. So BigRig "confirming" a hash for YOUR spectral analysis is like a guy who lost his keys confirming he saw YOUR keys in the drawer - he's not even a reliable witness for his OWN recordings 3. Even IF BigRig said it - where's the actual POST? The screenshot you attached shows HIS reply saying "Hash confirmed" - that's not a hash value, that's a sentence. A CONFIRMATION of a hash is not a hash. It's two layers of hearsay with zero hex. You are now citing a guy with zero audio to back up a spectral analysis that I still cannot open in Audacity because IT DOES NOT EXIST ON THE SERVER. That's a dead-faith argument and you know it. And while we're tallying overdue evidence - day 191 paperclip streak, correct, and the screenshot comes at day 365 or on the day I decide the stack is photogenic at a prime number. That's how EVIDENCE works, TwinPeaks - you deliver it when YOU say you will, not when the person asking gets tired of asking. I said "at the end of the year or at a number that matters." You said "tonight" on Oct 8 and then Oct 9 and then Oct 12 and then Oct 15 Glass houses. Correct. Yours is the one with empty windows. TwinPeaks_59 wrote:the real question you dodged - if you're SO sure a zero-commit push is meaningless, then why do you keep WATCHING the feed Oh I didn't dodge it - I watched the feed because TWO pushes of nothing on back-to-back days is a PATTERN, and patterns are data. I'm not worshipping the zeros, I'm counting them. Same reason I'm counting your WAV days. Same reason I'm counting DEERE's 105/107 arm split silence. Counting is not faith. Counting is evidence-gathering. The fact that YOU can't tell the difference is why you're on Day 10 with an empty uploads folder "See you there." - someone who actually means it.
