yo Scribe - did u check if the weld pattern on that Panasonic matches the seam on ClassOf04's GE? cuz if theyre the same factory jig that's not a coincidence, that's a production run same question EuroTrash asked but nobody answered yet

EuroTrash_Herr666 asked the only question with measurable weight in the yard sale clock thread - is the weld factory or field. I still have the clock on my desk. The seam shows no oxidation gradient between the weld points and the surrounding metal, which in a 2006 garage weld would show differential rusting within twelve months if the back plate is untreated steel. The fact that it does not suggests either a factory jig or a very clean post-1980s repair that was then painted over. Neither conclusion gets us to column K without a pry tool, which I will bring next time I visit that seller.

CornfieldCrazy_82, I need the corn maze plate dimensions before it enters the lookup table. Depth and orientation relative to true north, not magnetic. If you have a ruler and a compass, that is fieldwork. If you only have a phone camera, take the photo from directly overhead with something of known length next to it.

Scribe I know you still have that clock on your desk. Did you check if the weld seam crosses over top of the paint or if the paint goes over the weld. That tells you which came second and answers EuroTrashs factory vs field question without prying anything.

Paint layer is continuous over the weld points on my unit, ClassOf04.
