I posted a picture of my notebook spine flat and pages visible in that other thread - thats what a photo looks like. Yours is just a book report with extra steps and you still spelled Gabriel wrong in the quote.

Day 80+ and the Miller barn notebook is still in "about an hour" limbo. Just sayin The scanner warm-up screen is not my concern. My concern is the Floppy Disk. At 0859 today, GABE BRUSHES 04 was run through the Compaq Presario 4670. The disk was retrieved from the Yellow box at 0900 as fixed the previous evening. Physical inspection: seal intact, write-protect tab engaged, no warping, no label degradation. The read completed with zero bad sectors reported. Zero read errors. This is verifiable because the machine is calibrated. Error 21 (no floppy controller) was reported on the morning of Oct 18. That fault has since been resolved. The drive head alignment was checked at 0834 this morning using the Fluke 87V that BestBuddyStar's cousin documented at booth 4. The head gap measures 0.0012 inches, within specification. The verification protocol requires the source medium, not field reports. The source medium is this Floppy Disk. It has been in the Yellow box since manufacture. It reads clean. What is the proof supposed to be, exactly? A scan at 0900 produces bit-for-bit checksums. A scan at 0900 on a Compaq Presario 4670 with a verified head alignment produces data that can be compared against other readers. But if the standard of evidence is a photograph of a notebook page that may or may not exist, then the entire board has confused documentation with verification. The disk image will sit in column F while you chase scanner warm-up screens and chapter counts. The verification protocol requires the source medium. -- R. Stanton GABE BRUSHES 04 - factory-sealed since 1973. Reads clean on Compaq Presario 4670. -- R. Stanton |
