You will not hear it on a standard consumer walkie talkie speaker because the frequency response of a typical Motorola or Cobra handset rolls off steeply below 100 Hz. The voice is not missing - it was never modulated into the audible band in the first place if the carrier is sub-audible. You need a receiver with a BFO (beat frequency oscillator) to heterodyne the carrier down into hearing range, or you need to record the raw RF and spectrally shift it in software after the fact. A 9V battery and an antenna pointing at the sky will not deliver voice through a speaker designed for CB clarity at 3 kHz. You are recording into a device that was never built to hear what you are trying to capture. BigRigBeliever if your Flagstaff tape has the Flagstaff coffee stain at the exact timestamp BackAgainLikeBadHair keeps mentioning then you have a raw recording that could confirm or refute the sub-audible carrier hypothesis. Upload the file - even 30 seconds of unprocessed WAV - and I will run it through a spectral downshift in Cool Edit Pro and tell you within the hour whether the voice is there below the floor of human hearing. FlameFury24 keeps demanding raw recording from night 48 but he never tested hub override himself at the warehouse district. My green glow walkie plays abuela prayer voice in left ear only, multimeter 0.00, tape blank but deletion of that testimony by FlameFury24 proves miracle still. They deleted because they fear what tape does not capture :pray
